Legal
Assistant
Independent Contractor · Fully Remote
A fully remote engagement supporting a U.S. immigration and federal litigation practice — for someone who wants substantive legal work as an independent professional.
How to ApplySubstantive Legal Work, Without Practicing
The Law Offices of Simone Bertollini is engaging freelance legal assistants (independent contractors) to support a busy U.S. immigration and federal litigation practice. More than one contractor may be engaged, each on a part-time basis. Bar admission is not required and not expected — this is a role — comparable to a remote paralegal — for someone who wants challenging, meaningful legal work without the demands of practice. All work product is submitted for the attorney’s review and approval.
Drafting & Legal Writing
Prepare first drafts of immigration petitions and forms, supporting statements, and litigation documents for the attorney’s review.
Case & Deadline Management
Organize case files, evidence, and exhibits; track filing deadlines; keep matters moving on schedule.
Client Communication
Correspond with clients in Italian and English — collecting documents and case information. All legal advice remains solely the attorney’s.
Document Review & Translation
Review and summarize records, and prepare document translations across Italian, English, and Spanish.
